ABOUT
Dr Clementine Chawane

Dr Chawane is a specialist psychiatrist committed to helping individuals and families better understand their mental health. Her work is grounded in the belief that care should extend beyond symptom management to exploring patterns, lived experiences, and the factors that shape who we are.

She completed her BSc in Physiology and Biochemistry at MEDUNSA and her medical degree at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal. She later specialised in psychiatry and is a Fellow of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

Her approach is collaborative, practical, and deeply reflective, supporting patients in making sense of their experiences while developing tools for healing, growth, and resilience.

MORE THAN TREATMENT
Understanding the Whole Person

Psychiatry is not only about reducing symptoms. It is about understanding the connections between experiences, patterns, and identity.
Dr Chawane works with patients to explore these connections, helping them gain clarity, build self-awareness, and move forward with intention.
